International students completing their higher education have a right to work in Europe and get many opportunities. Students who have a valid student visa and hold a valid residence permit are eligible for even part-time work even during the course of study. European law allows foreign students to carry out part-time work of 964 hours during the year, the equivalent of 60% of the legal work year. A part-time employee is at least eligible for the minimum wage decided by European law, are 9.76 Euros gross per hour as of January 1st, 2018. The after-tax deduction, it comes to around €7.61/hour.
